Job Description

The Opportunity We're looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Manager of Corporate Social Media to expand and elevate our company's social media presence. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with our business objectives, enhances brand reputation, and drives engagement with our key audiences. You’ll help manage Genentech corporate channels and serve as a subject matter expert on all things social media. The preferred location for this role is out of our South San Francisco Genentech campus; however remote flexibility may be considered. Relocation assistance is not offered on this posting Key Responsibilities Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute a data-driven corporate social media strategy that supports company goals, including brand awareness, thought leadership, and disease education. Content and Campaigns: Oversee the creation and distribution of compelling content across all corporate social channels (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook). Lead the planning and execution of integrated social media campaigns, including paid social campaigns to amplify reach and engagement. Paid Social Expertise: Lead strategy and oversee execution for paid social media, including audience targeting, A/B testing, bid management, and performance optimization across platforms. Brand Reputation: Monitor and manage the company's online reputation, including supporting our social listening and crisis communication efforts. Reporting and Analysis: Use analytics tools to track, measure, and report on the performance of social media initiatives. Use these insights to optimize our strategy and demonstrate ROI. Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including Science Communications, Executive Communications, and Product Public Relations, to ensure a cohesive and consistent brand voice and message across all platforms. Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date on the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, and share that knowledge with the broader organization. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in social media management, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful social media strategies for a large brand or corporation. Extensive experience with paid social media advertising, including a deep understanding of campaign management, optimization, and budget allocation. Deep understanding of major social media platforms, their algorithms, and analytics tools. A proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently and drive projects from concept to completion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to craft compelling narratives. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Experience in crisis management and brand reputation management. A natural collaborator who can work effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the biotechnology or life sciences industry is a plus. The preferred location for this role is out of our South San Francisco Genentech campus; however remote flexibility may be considered. Relocation assistance is not offered on this posting The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, California is $141,700/yr to $263,100/yr . Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
